How Evhen got the first 10 customers to his apps directory

Meet Evhen who is a UX/UI designer from Kyiv, Ukraine.

Evhens story is limited to getting the first 10 paying customers to his AI apps directory 100apps.org. But it is good stuff and probably an easy way to get traction for other applications as well.

The story told by Evhen

I started building 100apps.org 2-3 months ago.

As the curator of a directory featuring 100 AI apps (with a listing fee), I needed to build momentum before being able to attract my first paying customers.

To kickstart this process, I offered AI app owners the opportunity to join my directory for free. I reached out to them via X. Then I wrote a post about each new app on X. This all helped me create a foundation to draw in my first set of paying customers.

To boost sales further, I started buying apps and shared my feedback/review of them on X. I tried about 50 different apps which cost me about a total of $50.

Subsequently some of these app owners decided to join my directory on a paid basis, with listing fees starting from $4 per month. Paying customers get a listing in the directory, promo from my X profile and support at Product Hunt on the launch day.

Using this method it took me just about one month to get to 10 paying customers.

Best of luck to Evhen with his directory.
