How Manoj crossed $100K in revenue building MVP's

Meet Manoj Ahirwar.

Manoj is an entrepreneur from India. He has more than 7 years of experience in building products. He launched his first product in 2015 which was a college social network for study materials.

In 2020 he tried to raise VC funding for one of his startups - a fintech platform. It didn’t work out.

That didn’t stop Manoj for pushing on. He left his job as a senior software engineer in Singapore to start UniqueSide. This has been his full time job since July 2023.

What is UniqueSide?

UniqueSide is an MVP-focused software development company which helps founders and entrepreneurs launch their products fast.

We currently have two business models. First one is fixed cost for product development and launch. Second is for long term partnership with founders which is flexible and not fixed.

A leap of faith

I had the idea of UniqueSide for quite some time but did not get into it until 2023.

Finally, I decided to pull the trigger to leave my job and start my own business. It was a hard decision and I was ready for the worst-case scenario.

I launched UniqueSide unofficially on July 5th 2023 (the day after my last day at my job). I got my first customer at the end of the August 2023. After that I registered UniqueSide as a Singaporean company in November 2023.

Until November 2023 I was solo but now I have total 2 people working on the project. They are both developers.

Getting customers

In the beginning, getting customers was the hard part. I was new on X and slowly building my presence there. I would say so far most of the inbound customers come from X - and some from LinkedIn (example).

But getting the first customer started with the following post on X.

In just one year after launch UniqueSide crossed $100K in revenue. This was a great feeling for me. This is the first time something that I started hit a major milestone like this.

The main struggle is to keep getting new customers. So far it’s all inbound leads but I still need to figure out a way to build a lead pipeline to have stable growth.

I have not spent much on marketing for UniqueSide. As mentioned all the revenue came from my X and LinkedIn presence. I would like to improve on that but also start doing paid marketing.

I did try running ads on X on a small budget but that did not work out. I am also thinking of trying Facebook ads. This is my trial and experiment phase of the ads marketing.
