Nithursan built an AI jobs site making $1000 per month

Meet Nithursan Mahendran.

Nithursan is from South East Asia. He has been indie hacking for the past 4 years.

Back in 2020, when the world was in Covid quarantine, he picked up writing online. He wanted to build a daily writing habit but he couldn't find a tool that would help him track his progress. So he built his own.

That's how Nithursan got into indie hacking.

Currently Nithursan is indie hacking full time and growing an AI jobs site called MoAIJobs.

I started MoIAJobs as a fun two hour challenge on X on 29th of December, 2023. The idea was to build and launch a product in only two hours. I shared the product idea along the challenge as well - a job board for the AI niche.

Luckily I was able to pull through. I actually did launch within the two hour time limit.

The project immediately got a nice reception from the AI community on X. I got featured in multiple newsletters (see below) and even Robert Scoble posted about it on X. So, I was able to get 1000s of users in the first day of launching my site.

More than 50,000 job seekers used my site to find jobs in AI.

It's been 6 months since the launch. My current main struggle in terms of marketing is SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Since I am a builder by trade. My marketing skills suck but I am learning on the go. And I feel like I am progressing better.

MoAIJobs is completely bootstrapped and customer funded. In May 2024, MoAIJobs passed $1000 revenue in a month. I charge $199 per listing from companies to post their job openings. That is my only business model so far.

I operate at 99% profit margin because there are allmost no expenses for MoAIJobs at the moment. The only expense so far is paying for the domain name.

After building job boards for two years, Nithursan is putting his expertise into creating a job board boilerplate for other job board founders to build successful job boards.
